Staying on Skomer Island is a whole new experience as compared with a day visit. It offers wonderful golden light opportunities and sunsets to capture beautiful puffin images. Photography advice will be available from Kevin and Rachel throughout your stay on Skomer Island.

Proposed dates are mid May and late June but cannot be confirmed until we secure accommodation so please fill in a Request Form to go on our Waitlist.

GUEST REVIEWS

“I thought you and Kevin worked great together, and honestly your workshop was one of the best I’ve ever taken.  It was way beyond my expectations, and I’m so happy my husband and I made it happen.”
Melissa

“Just spent a wonderful two days on Skomer, photographing puffins and other birds with Pembrokeshire Moments. Rachel and Kevin are a great team. They are both accomplished photographers who are happy to share their knowledge and help you to get the best out of your time on the island. Rachel will also make sure you never get hungry! Whatever kind of photographs you want to take, they will do their utmost to get you in the right position at the right time and advise you on the best way to get them. Highly recommended!”

“I have been following Kevin Morgans for a while as he is famous for his wonderful images of puffins. My husband and I booked to stay on the island last year and we could not wait to go and join him. This two day workshop of puffins became one of the most remarkable photography trips we have ever done. Kevin is not only a great photographer but he is very pleasant and extremely helpful. He makes sure that you return home with the photos you wanted to achieve. Meeting Rachel Mullet however was an unexpected bonus for us. She is a great photographer, highly efficient organizer, great host and a fabulous cook. Rachel definitely made the trip very special with her great company and photographic help. We came back home with great memories, and a signed copy of Kevin’s book and lovely souvenirs from Pembrokeshire Moments. A highly recommended trip! We can’t wait to go back there again with Kevin and Rachel.”
Nur

“Just a short note to say thank you for a superb workshop on Skomer last month – what an awesome place and, as a novice, I learnt so much about various aspects of photography (e.g. exposure compensation and gaining more confidence in own manual settings) that I could put into practice in the field there and then. I’d rate the course 10/10 and anybody who is slightly nervous about signing up because they’re a novice and feel that such a programme is for the more experienced should leave those reservations behind and go for it!”
David

“I waited 3 years to get to Skomer and I can truthfully say that it didn’t disappoint. I went for puffin pictures and came away with plenty (5,000!). Rachel and Kevin were wonderful hosts/guides/experts and nothing was too much trouble. The farmhouse was basic but comfortable. Rachel kept us well fed which gave us the energy for the 18,000+ steps daily. You need a reasonable level of fitness and some paths are quite rocky. The island was full of bluebells and pink campion so the view were stunning. I will definitely be back later in the season for a picture of the puffins feeding the young. I had a fantastic few days and met some wonderful people. I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed the experience. Thank you Rachel and Kevin.”
Zoe

If you want to watch and photograph Puffins the island of Skomer is the place to go. If you also want to experience the soft light in the mornings and evenings you need to stay overnight on the island.
I joined one of the overnight trips with Pembrokeshire Moments in late June and can highly recommend these trips.
We were a small group of only 6 photographers guided by Kevin Morgans and Rachel Mullet. Both Kevin and Rachel are highly knowledgeable about the location and gave very valuable tips on how to best put these little birds into the frame.
We had a lot of fun and came back with many excellent pictures. Thank you Rachel and Kevin for this wonderful trip.

“A wonderful 2 night overnight stay on Skomer – thank you both so much for taking us to the best spots at the best times – for the chat, lovely food, non-intrusive guidance, and for sorting out my back button focus mystery!!!”
Kay

“The Skomer Island photography workshop was a perfect blend of learning, photography, natural beauty, and camaraderie. Rachel and Kevin’s hospitality, combined with their extensive knowledge and the sheer beauty of Skomer Island, made this experience truly magical. I wholeheartedly recommend this workshop to anyone passionate about photography and nature. I assure you, you will return with not just beautiful photographs but memories that will last a lifetime.”

“This year was the first time to see and photograph the puffins on Skomer. It was a wonderful and educational trip. With many great photo opportunities. Everything was well organized, I enjoyed the island, the birds, and the pleasant group of participants. This consisted of 6 participants a nice small group so you could get enough attention.”
